Turned $20 into $97

May 7th, 2006 at 10:45 am

I started my spending and savings today off by, first stopping at CVS. I bought 1 tube of toothpaste that was on sale for .99 cents. I bought 1 box of CVS brand Midol for $4.49. Total came to $5.97 I handed the cashier my $1 coupon for the toothpaste "making it FREE, my favorite kind" Then my total came to $4.97 I had $5 in Extra Care Bucks so I handed it to the cashier and she said, I had to have .03 cents more to use it. I picked up a pack of Air Heads since, I felt like one. ha ha. My daughter loves these so I surprised her. After adding the candy I ended up paying .40 cents. So, my total left of $20 = $19.60 plus when my receipt printed out it had 3 coupons attached to it. 1ST is for $4 off of $20, 2ND is for $2 extra bucks and the 3RD is for $10 extra bucks. "not sure if there are rules on how I am to list this or not" So my total left is $19.60 plus I have $16 in EXTRA BUCKS to spend later. Plus I picked up 5 beauty savings books with $30 worth of coupons in them.

Now I headed off to Walgreen's, I needed a few things for my rebates I didn't finish getting. 1 can of Lysol spray w/ bonus bathroom cleaner on sale for $4. 1 bottle of new ACT mouth wash on sale for $3. 1 Scrubbing Bubbles shower cleaner on sale for $20. I got 3 bags of Reese's candy I didn't realize it was on sale until I got home and looked over the receipt. "not good since I needed it to add up to $10 for a rebate" My total at register came to $37.60. I handed the cashier my coupons which were $7.00. New total $30.60 I handed her 2 Walgreen's rebate gift cards I earned last month with $30.00 on it total. I ended up paying .60 cents for everything. I will have 2 rebates coming back it would of been 3, but I under bought the candy I'll have to get another bag next time to get my $5 back. "I won't count this money now" 1 rebate for Lysol is $4 and one rebate for Scrubbing Bubbles is $5, "if I could find those $10 rebate forms that would be awesome' plus there were coupons in the box worth $6.50. So my total spending today is .40 cents plus .60 cents for a total of $1 out of pocket. I have $15.50 in future money for rebates and coupons. Add $15.50 +16.00 = $31.50 in future money! Smile

Total money left right now is $20 - $1= $19.00

$19 left in pocket today with $46.50 worth of merchandise in hand.
w/added future money I have $50.50 + $46.50 in merchandise = $97.00
SWEET!

Starting tomorrow out with $19.00.

great deals.. i do that also, but, right now i am stockpiled on toothpaste and such... i would apply my skills to the triple, and double coupon grocery stores for other pantry items and such... and i make sure i don't use a coupon just for the play... i have to really need it for my want list... too much clutter comes into play... i would advise you to check out dg. they accept coupons there now, no printables, but, i have better deals at times, using coupons there... thanks for posting.. welcome.
